"FIKA" TIME We Swedes love to "fika". This phenomenon is so Swedish that the word "fika" does not have a direct translation in other languages! The word fika comes from backwards slang, where you reverse the syllables of a word; in this case it was kaffi, as coffee was previously called in certain dialects.
