HÄGGES ENVIRONMENTAL WORK

In our operation we want to utilise nature's resources in the best way possible so as to minimise the environmental impact and through that contribute towards an ecologically sustainable society. The goal is to economise with raw materials and energy in the best way possible without sacrificing quality. We do this by:

- Planning the operation, and based on these plans, formulating goals and action plans that can be followed up.
- Increasing knowledge among all employees and promoting responsibility in regard to environmental, quality, and health aspects in their work tasks.
- Prioritising the environment and health where there are substantial risks.
- Working towards constant improvements and preventive measures within the areas of the environment, quality, and work environment.
- Following laws and agreements.

Examples of what Hägges has done to reduce environmental impact:
- Invested in purification facilities that separate fat from water, which results in a lesser impact on purification plants.
- Reduced energy use.
- Our raw materials are transported to the plant entirely or partially by train.
- Corrugated cardboard in bread cartons are very adaptable to recycling.
- Hägges Finbageri pays a fee to the REPA-registry, which is responsible to ensure that the corrugated cardboard is recycled.
- Incoming corrugated cardboard is sorted
- We have reduced the impact on the environment by choosing thinner packaging materials.
