HÄGGES QUALITY WORK
Hägges is certified in accordance with the BRC Global Standard, a standard that is adapted to requirements placed on the foodstuff provisions industry and retailers for minimising risks in connection with the production of food products. This is applicable throughout all of Europe and contributes toward consumers feeling safe about what they eat.
The BRC Global Standard is adapted to the foodstuff provision industry and places demands on facilities, product and process supervision, and hygiene requirements in order to be able to guarantee product safety. The company makes a number of risk analyses for the production and logistics chain, documents these and then regularly checks and takes action to reduce or eliminate these risks. Each year an audit is carried out by an authorised public accountant who checks those assessment elements that are included in the standard:
- HACCP system for critical control points
- Management system for quality in accordance with ISO9001
- Requirements for facilities and production premises
- Production supervision
- Process management
- Personnel
The standard was developed in the late 1990s by the BRC (British Retail Consortium), an organisation for the largest retail sales chains in Great Britain, in order to be able to evaluate the suppliers of products to their EMV (own brands).
The BRC Global Standard is approved by the retail sales organisation, Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), and corresponds to the majority of other food product safety standards.
